Dive into our virtual Commonwealth Games Swim Challenge this August, open to all members of Aspire@ThePark, Featherstone Sports Complex, Minsthorpe Leisure, Normanton Swimming Pool, and Sun Lane Leisure! Join us from 1st to 31st August 2026, as we race towards completing a total swimming distance of 16.22 km. This individual challenge offers you the chance to compete against fellow swimmers and see who can reach the finish line first. Aim to swim at least 3661 metres each week to complete your journey by the end of the month. Rankings will be based on how many days it takes each participant to achieve the full distance, so plan your swims and keep on track. Whether you enjoy a leisurely backstroke, prefer a speedy freestyle, or mix up your strokes, every swimming style is welcome. Challenge yourself, improve your stamina, and see how quickly you can complete the course. Register with your favourite participating pool and start prepping for a month of swimming fun and friendly competition. Let's make a splash this August! 🏊‍♂️💼 See you in the pool!The 2018 Commonwealth Games will take place on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia from 4th - 15th April. This stunning part of the world has everything. Amazing beaches, great surf, an abundance of wildlife in the sea and on land and a stunning city skyline. The athletics will take place in the Carrara Stadium on the banks of the River Nerang and the swimming will take place in the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre just over 16km downstream, close to where the river meets the Coral Sea. Your challenge is to swim between the two, before the start of the Commonwealth Games!
