The North Channel crossing from Northern Ireland to Scotland is probably the most challenging of the Oceans 7 swims, due to the strong currents, cold temperatures and abundance of jellyfish, who are more than happy to sting passing swimmers!
To date less than 50 swimmers have completed the route for real.
This 34km swim starts in Donaghadee in County Down, finishing just South of Portpatrick, a historic fishing village in Dumfries and Galloway.
