Kangaroo Island is the third largest Australian Island after Tasmania and Melville Island. Situated South West of Adelaide, almost half of the island is designated as a national park due to its abundance of scenery carved out by the sea and wildlife, including plenty of Grey Kangaroos. Your challenge is to circumnavigate the island. You’ll start at Cape Willoughby and head North past Cuttlefish Bay and cut across the open ocean to the North Cape, rounding the point and swimming the length of the North Coast. You’ll head South when you reach the Ravine Des Casoars and from there it’s only a short swim to the South West corner past Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks. From there, you’ll aim for Cape Gantheume passing through Seal Bay and once you are round the Cape, you’ll be in sight of Cape Willoughby once again. A total swim of just over 330km.
